Honestly i love the look of these jackets but i think the misses would have something to say. I have been wearing a tweed flat cap for 4 years now since my little one turned up, and she thought i was growing old then... (I'm 34 by the way)

Am 36, married and know exactly what you mean, Sir!
I always tell her: "Well, at least when I'm fishing and you are not around I should be allowed to wear whatever I want" followed by her ....you know what kind of face...
Hard work :D

Just tell her that dressed as we do, no other woman would ever show any interest in you!

Hence my nom de plum, Old Man Oakley!
Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.

Exactly! That or slightly similar it goes. A good match you found. My wife looks quite similar!
OMO: I will try this next time: I guess she will like that
And I will do: :Notlisterning:

Gentlemen, if my wife looked like that, I am afraid angling would be a thing of the past.

That might be the reason why I'm not fishing that often anymore.
Now I know

Hope that's a limited timespan only and by the time she will do what all women do the sooner or later: even sending us away fishing.
:laugh1:

They all do it.... is it hereditary? or perchance they learn it from their mothers as part of the pre-marriage talk that all mothers give
Just one more cast love, and I'll be on me way home

Leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but pictures and memories
