Re: Perfection Roach
My 11foot mark two weighs 10oz using two different sets of scales if that helps.

Re: Perfection Roach
My Perfection Roach MkII on the kitchen scales weighs between 9oz and 10oz (approx 250 grms) and is 11 feet long carrying the number H59242.
Re: Perfection Roach
Thank's both of you for taking the time to weigh the rods.
They weigh 10oz which is around twice the weight of a modern rod. How would you say they feel in the hand?
I've decided to move on my Hardy Wallis and Poolson rods, the latter is 17 ounces and just too heavy for trotting.
I don't want to make an expensive mistake.

How does it feel in the hand? Absolutely splendid in my opinion.
I take it you have not handled or fished with a Roach Perfection as yet?

Re: Perfection Roach
No, not yet, a Wallis Avon - not overly impressed with that.
I'd like a short trotting rod hence the interest, the RP being a possibility.
I dare not name the alternative but it includes the word waggler

Re: Perfection Roach
I use mine for trotting with an allcocks popular and although I also fish with c_rb_n rods It really doesn't seem like a heavy rod and seems to be very well balanced. Very different from the Wallis rods.

Re: Perfection Roach
I have a Perfection Roach, it is light, responsive and well balanced. You might say the perfect tool for the job....However, I also have an early blue whipped Lucky Strike.Tweed wrote:No, not yet, a Wallis Avon - not overly impressed with that.

The one rod in my collection I will never consider selling, is the latter.

Re: Perfection Roach
I absolutely love mine, I just don't use it enough, as I am scared of catching something that may break it!
It is what it says on the butt, Perfection
