Well done Colin and Andrew on another fine project. Looking forward to seeing it progress.

I wish my workshop looked as tidy. I think I'd need a skip.

I think I will be able to withstand being bored silly by this project. Well done both in moving the world of cane rods forward.

Tactio update

Recieved an update today from Andrew on the Tactio.
His words not mine as its all to technical for old Bumble .
Ok next stage is to plane the angles onto the strips. I start with a wooden former with two angles 30°and 57° .Plane just one edge then go over to the 30° form to put the angle on the remaining side. Once you have the correct 60°angle I then set up the metal adjusting former. Most important job is
keep the plane blade as sharp as you can. Bamboo will dull the edge so sharpen that blade often. Finally today i will bake the strips before final planeing.
