thats one of my favourites in the book but my favourite picture is the pike one

This is the picture that has stayed with me all my life; it was what brought me to Hereford 40 years ago. The immortal words on page 95: "I remember a stretch where it did not seem that was a perch under a pound. Time after time they would turn up at all weights from a pound and a half upwards." This was true when Bernard wrote it and is not far off the mark today.......
