Well done to both Wm+ and Nobby. I have to keep studying the pics for the
design innovations over all existing available reels. Like ooh, there's no pillars
and there is a proper shallow spool without it being overly so.
Every individual item displays craftmanship and design over plain engineering.
I want one, but with a recessed line guard for batting(gotta give the main man a new idea).
But then again owning such a thing will make owning any other centrepin pointless?
Great post, thanks to all, I'll go back for more oggling now.

Good point QuinetteCane I forgot to mention the very first design parameter ( d'oh!)......a pillarless spool that won't kink my line! Consequently one huge great piece of aluminium alloy was reduced to a knee-high pile of swarf resulting in a spool so light you can barely feel it in your hand:
What you see here is a home-made motorised tool post holding a drilling bit in the Jacob's chuck which is adding a chamfer to the edge of the many holes in the spool. The workpiece is not rotating but held steadily in place by yet another home-made tool hidden away in the gearbox of the lathe that allows any number of hole configurations to be 'dialled in'. He's such a perfectionist that at this stage he nearly scrapped it and started again...............

One piece spool! I assumed it to be two pieces at least.
I remember making a toolmakers clamp in School but it was never up to that
which Wm+ skills cover. (Ironic lol).

I have read and re-read this thread - and I have looked and looked at the pictures of this reel.
I want to post something to express my admiration but am truly lost for words - there's nothing I can say that will do the reel or skill/attention to detail any justice.
