I would really love to come but realistically there is no chance!

Gentlemen, It is with great regret that I have to pull out of this one due to "Her In doors" but I will still see most of you Sunday for the Carp room so not all bad.
Give my best to Mr Yates and company. :hat:

Re: Saturday 19th November
Looking dodgey for me as well as I have been given a school commitment up until 12.25 on Sat.
I maybe able to change it.
Does anyone know what time it starts? 12.00 I fear...

Re: Saturday 19th November
According to a friend who went to the Perchfishers' launch last week, people were 'in position' from early morning, and by midday it was rammed. According to the landlord this weekend's event is set to be even more popular, so you might need to take a sleeping bag and kip on the doorstep...

Maybe we could just invite Mr Yates and Co along to one of our meetings instead. :chuckle:

I'll be there in spirit...............rather a long trip from up here in the Lakes I'm afraid.
Would someone mind passing on the Colonel's regards to Chris please and remind him to phone Boris............he'll understand, and probably chuckle.
Thanks chaps, enjoy the gathering.

Re: Saturday 19th November
It was awful. There was a queue of people 50 strong , some of them with small suitcases full of books for Chris to sign (I'm not kidding), and one bloke who I saw was clearly a dealer, with a big freezer bag full of identical brand new books. Once he'd got Chris to sign them, he went out to his car, unloaded the bag, re-loaded with more books and joined the queue at the back.
Poor old Martin Bowler, Hugh Miles and Bernard Cribbens were sitting there like Billy-no-mates, while this huge queue waited patiently , certainly for 2 - 2 1/2 hrs if you were near the back for CY.
It was not what I expected.
