Hundred quids worth by my reckoning.
I remember, when I worked in a tackle shop, that maggots were delivered in square metal biscuit tins.

250lbs How many Keepnets? some of those fish must have perished, Hence why i don't match fish , could not afford the maggots with the price of food and electricity today

I guess it’s good to have confirmation of the head of fish in that area of the river and I for one wouldn’t knock the angler’s ability but as already mentioned by others, that approach raises a few concerns - can’t imagine that number of fish being kept in any number of keep nets for any length of time, without major adversity and trauma for the fish. (Unless, for example, they conducted hourly weigh-ins prior to releasing the fish caught in that hour, which I doubt. Even then it’s still not good for the fish). Then there’s the fact that the majority of people simply can’t afford to fish with that amount of bait.

What an awful thing to do. As Carl points out where were these hapless fish kept and for how long. It saddens me.
