Cheers JT,

It is sat on the embryonic short handle (about 4') that is just plain cane with the thread fitted.

I'll probably bring all of them along to the AGM

JT, ...your new signature...is that a French carp, by any chance?

I'm sure I recognise that image.

Unfortunately I don't know Nobby.

It was created for me by a nice chap on another forum, he never said where he got the image from.

I do like it though. :)

I'm fairly sure( never more so at my age)that the image is one of a series taken by a French angler and photographer a couple of years ago, notable for having the fish partly above the surface.

I'll try and remember some more details...don't hold your breath.

jeez, I'm good!

The 4' handle has the first coat of varnish on, as does the lower part of the hoop. I'm not sure I will do that again. Whipping nodes on a hoop is a real pain in the backside. I'll post some photos later in the week when the varnish is dry. I test fitted the Snowbee net, fits nicely and looks good. I decided against flaming, having already scorched sections. I wasn't sure I wouldn't burn the frame. Instead I opted for a Ronseal, rosewood stain. Blends in OK. It doesn't take away the scorching but it isn't so obvious

All done. This now gives me a combination of 6 different nets. Two handles and 3 different tops. Shouldn't need anything else now. Not unless one of them falls to bits

Apologies for posting as a link, but tinypics isn't giving me the option to add to post at the moment :hairout:
