I remember 1982 well, I was 18 and had just discovered Carp myself. I was amazed at how hard they fought when compared to the Gudgeon and Ruffe that normally graced my landing net. It wasn't until 2001 that I caught my first double figure carp though.

In 1982 I was 9 and hadn't yet thought about angling. :cry:

You were late starter then? :wink:

Somewhere else I have a photo of me aged 3 3/4 in 1967 with my first fishing rod (red, hollow glass 6ft) with basic pin reeling a very small dace or roach at Thames Ditton on the Thames. :D

Yes, quite a late started I was 12 when I saw a friend fishing for crabs in the creek. I asked what he was doing and the rest is history.

I wouldn't worry about it SK - I didn't start fishing with rod and line until I was eleven, though I had spent some time previously mucking about with dipping nets in the local brooks and ponds. Judging by your catch reports, you've got the hang of it quicker than me.
