I quite liked this one from the mid sixties . It reminds me of good times but also the tag line makes me think of times when anglers perhaps had less tackle , makes me appreciate what I have.

Well yes, .... sort of..Richard Walker captured the record fish with an early Mitchell half bail reel in September 1953, whereas that late full bail reel is from 1968 or later...but adverts were never about 100% accuracy I guess.

From 1953, I've never seen a Comet, but it does show that Edgar Sealey were right up there producing a 'glass' rod in '53 the same year as Allcocks released their offerings in 'glass'.( note the outline of an Ambidex half-bail)

The picture of the fold away chair brings back memory's of when I was young not all good I'm afraid I forgot my chair whent back to the cannal bank 5mins later a fisherman who was next to me with his friends said he had not seen it had my chair in his basket and would not give it back to me when I got home my father took me back to the cannal on his motor bike but the man had gone very sad memorie indeed :Cry: mike
