Fascinating thread gentlemen. Really enjoying this one.

I don’t suppose anybody can shed any light on the following tantalisingly brief words from Kev Clifford’s book: “…the 36 yearlings sold to Dick Kefford in April 1951...”

I’m sure I read elsewhere that these fish, purchased from Mr. Leney, ended up in ponds in the Wickham Market area of Suffolk (hence my interest – it’s one of my stamping grounds and my family’s ancestral home). But does anybody know the whereabouts of these ponds? Skeff? Anybody? It’s a long shot I realise, but any information would be great.

I can see this thread taking up a lot of my time..... :Thumb: I've definitely seen a Dick Kefford record in the books but can't recall the details. also Bracken, BB for Wood Pool (2 stockings), Cheshunt (Bill Keal), Redmire, Frensham, Woldale (Maurice), Savay.....

Last one of Waggoners probably had Stu's 27 in the fish kettle..... :Thumb:

Shameless plug time - there's a chapter on the stock records in A Fool and His Eel, which might be of interest.... :Hide:

Woodschester Mansion is meant to be the most haunted site in Britain.....

Here we are Greg. March 1956 - I knew I'd marked a record for Dick Kefford... 50 king carp 4-5 inches.... I'll have a look back at '51 as well but it may be that Kevin got the dates wrong?
