I was one of thousands if not tens of thousands whom Richard Walker inspired through his writings and achievements in regard to angling. As a teenager I was given as a birthday present his book 'No Need To Lie' in the first year of its publication beautifully illustrated by Reg Cooke - it is the one book I would take to my Desert Island along with the Bible and the Complete Works of Shakespeare. It is the best in my opinion of angling books and I seriously doubt that it will ever be surpassed even though many have followed in Walker's footsteps.

Reading a chapter of Walkers Pitch this evening - one of the best angling books ever.
