I didn't know you owned a tie Ted?
If you have no grease with you, and your rings are full of ice, do not cut out the ice with a pen-knife but get your man to put the rings one by one in his mouth, and so to thaw the ice.

The sheer exuberance of the craftsmanship is what I love; I mean - a lightened, decorated, sculpted check-lever? That's the sort of thing top watch-makers might do to frighten each other. It's from a place where engineering meets philosophy, to the benefit of both. Transcendental craftsmanship. Lathe as prayer-wheel. Like, wow, man.
Ted, I hope those big Lea chub line up to have their portraits taken with this gem. Don't forget to take the "mat-shots" in threes, with each side of the reel plus the opened-up shot!

It's nice to see it in a pair of hands and gauge its size.
Ted, we must talk about that tie! ;-)
Spare handles too....he thinks of everything.
Sadly, it won't retrieve three turns to the yard as it only recalls 11.938052083641999 inches to the turn. Seeing as this is going to cause such disappointment you can drop it round to me, Ted.
No?

What a handsome thing to own Ted!
To my mind a close cousin of the BB reel, also taken from a Hardy design.
Although this one has (coff) the better detail finish. Bravo wm+ .
If I may, what is the O/D of the finished reel?
I'm quite happy with my dial Conquest, but can't quite shake off the slight envy.

Re: New, all-metal custom Centrepin..
Ah, I got my sums wrong QuinetteCane...or rather I didn't add the correct 0.020", calculating from 3.8" instead of the actual 3.82" quoted by Wm+.
Incredibly, that extra 20 thou takes if from my erroneous 11.938etc to a full 12 inches and 0.0009 thou.
I guess Ted won't be dropping it round after all.............. :-(

Ooh Nobby! That don't half sound big.
I'd like an O/D number to get me head round a comparison size
like perhaps a Stanton. Though this Powell Conquest is patently an improvement.
Edit, My bad , it's there in the picture all the time !
