in the past few seasons the lower itchen has had a run of a few sea lampreys I think that they are a protected species altering there habitat could be against the law perhaps English nature should get involved

Assuming the changes impact the lampreys adversely.

A friend of mine caught and Lamprey from the lower Itchen a fewer weeks ago whilst fly fishing for sea trout. He said it was incredibly slimy. Needless to say it was foul hooked.

Hi.iI am new to the forum and live just 5 mins from Woodmil. I have been away from angling for 20 plus years and am shocked to read this about a river I have fished since I was 11 years old (47 years ago!).
Is there any update to these shenanigans?

Can you still go through the pub car park and park in the old road Craig?

Probably, but don't bother Rob.
Free parking at the bottom end of the fishery off Woodmill Lane. No time limit.
Had a very hard fighting 3lb chub just up from there today (so much better than working).
You can still park for free at the White Swan if you go in & register inside the pub. Otherwise @ £15 if staying more than a couple of hours !!!
The proposed removal of the lock obviously hasn't happened.
Should have another TFF day there.
Chub to 6lb plus, trout, grayling, eels, roach, pike......
