Seriously though, a part of me agrees with Vole - on a private water (it would need to be private for that clobber to pass without comment..), where the fish are cagey, and where the water is gin clear...
I have a sneaking suspicion that Walker would have approved...

Having some army connections myself I have considered a gilly suit in the past (but it would need to be made from various strips of Harris tweed to be properly trad!). I haven't gone that far but I do carry an army scrim netting scarf to put over my face when stalking chub.

It's actually quite similar in design to the rag jacket I wear when I'm out with Black Dog Molly Dancers - do you reckon I could press it into service for chub stalking trips?
