Re: Hats

I have a Tilley hat which rolls up in a coat pocket, doesn't make my head sweat and keeps the rain off my glasses - well most of the time. If the wind gets too much the hat has cunningly designed bits of chord that ensure that you will fly away with it, Mary Poppins style, rather than having to chase or swim for it. :chuckle:

I had a beard any moons ago, when I was pretending to be a rufty tufty oil man type. I used to keep it fairly short and hygienic using electric dog clippers, although I don't think I realised what they were actually for when I bought them in Germany. I shaved it off on the first day of a job in Saudi so that I returned with an all-over tan. :hat:

Hats ??? Don't mention hats !!! I now have a Deerstalker (my second favourite) ... a tweed drop brim (my favourite) ... 2 Barbour waxed cotton sports hats ... two waxed flat caps ... a leather Bush hat ... a cotton Bush hat ... 3 Santa hats (one black and white for Newcastle United) ... my late father in law's tweed flat cap ... my wife's late grandfather's straw boater ... a World War 2 leather flying helmet ... (the last 3 don't fit me, sadly). In short ... I am becoming slightly obsessed !!! I mean ... I have nearly as many hats as I do rods !!!!!

Bought myself one of those M&S broad cloth sun hats (great tip Mark). Looking more deranged by the minute. Just need the specs for the full Viv Stanshall look...

Nice one SK, a great pic,

A good friend of the late great Keith Moon.

An evening out with the pair of them would have been something.

That is assuming, of course, that you survived the evening out!

A good point Blackadder,

I'm suprised they did from reading "Dear Boy" Moons biography.

I don't think they would get away with what they did then in these PC times.
