The most precious places in the English landscape are those secretive corners,
where you find only elder trees, nettles and dreams. (BB - Denys Watkins-Pitchford).

Re: Traditional angling clothing
I've noticed when I'm stalking carp very close in that they are quite happy with me being there unless I move my hands or head even if the rest of me is motionless. I'm convinced they recognise the danger of 'pale things' moving. I've thought about wearing a camo net over my head and gloves. The latter would be fine, not sure about the former – I'm sure it would work but I'd look even more daft than I do normally.

I also have on of these http://www.equipyourtrip.com/lifesystem ... e=googleps which breaks up the face but is easier to see through and looks a little less silly.

The only combo that keeps the blasted Midgie at bay is an aqualung and wet/dry suit, and a few feet of briny. Even then, the wee devils know what an "A" flag is for, so they're all waiting for you when you surface.
They're probably the main reason most English people are perfectly happy to stay south of the wall.

The wife has just bought me one of these for Christmas.....can't wait to try it out. I think it looks rather nice.
I have the coat, not the shoes or gloves.
