i've noticed there are a load of "hand made vintage" sticks and tri-pods on the bay this week, all new, is it someone on here making them ?

If the ones you are talking about are by 'ennyalice', Estaban, then that is Dave Austin in Maidstone, Kent, here in the UK.

He tends to make a lot, sell it on then get back in the workshop and make some more. So you tend to see a lot and then none for a while.

Just for fun and to while away a few minutes I cobbled this together this evening.
Mrs Lucky had me clearing a section of the garden and I came accross this piece of honeysuckle. seemed a shame not to put something so naturally attractive to use. Its not terribly strong unfortunately but an off cut of aluminium tube should protect the end and a lick of varnish hopefully will strengthen the wood.

Nothing ventured Rodders! :Beg:

Another homemade bankstick, made from a stick found on the banks of Fernhill Farm.

1st coat of varnish on, bringing the natural colours out nicely.

I had a little inspiration whilst I was in "Poundland" this morning.
How best to protect the tip of a homemade wooden bankstick had been puzzling me, then I saw it!

A garden dibber, made for the job. Whipped off the handle, shortened to suit the stick diameter

Just need to whip over the joint and it should look pretty good.
