Many thanks Nobby - I'll pick it up with the rest of the stuff at Redditch, if that's OK. Let me know if you're desperate and I'll send you a fiver in the post as I know you are busy putting together your Craftversa fund
<edit> And of course, thanks once again to Matt for this wonderful gesture.

Will do Garry, if the previous requests hold good ....
I now have just 2 sets of narrows spare and 3 of wides......
Get 'em while they're hot!
EDIT: I'm happy to bring them to Redditch of course...that'll bring the price right down to £2 a set !!!

Re: Speedia reels, want a shallower arbour ?
Great,
I'm glad they arrived safe and sound. I would love some feedback regarding the wide drum version as I have made these without having a reel. Good luck with them, I have been using my Speedia with the new arbour and couldn't be happier with the result, the reel now has prode of place at the top of the ever expanding pile

I'd love one of each, if they're still there; they really look the biz!
Well done, Matt and Nobby!

Ah, Hi Vole...only wides left, shall I put you down for one?
Just pM me your details and I'll give you my e-mail address for the PayPal...

Re: Speedia reels, want a shallower arbour ?
The padded envelopes have arrived and the arbours are going to the Post Office this morning!
I wouldn't get behind me in the queue if I was you........
Thanks for the prompt payment everybody.
A few are being collected at Redditch next month on the 11th. ...a couple are going overseas....but all those that are being posted should get there next week from experience.
Would one of you wide drum purchasers post some feedback for Matt as he made these without an example on the bench and he's like to know how it all goes, please? Don't forget, due to variable widths from Speedia on this model, you may or may not have to 'flat-off' the little lip Matt created on one side...and this is the side that butts up behind the handles, also having two recesses to accomodate the handle retaining round rivet head.
If you do need to flat some width off, I'd try assembling the two sections together and gently stroking them away from you across a sheet of fine sandpaper held down onto the work table. Bear with a tad more pressure to the rear so the front doesn't 'dig-in' and get flatted more than the rear, and turn the arbour set with each stroke to even out the removal equally. Take your time...you can take it off but you can't put it back on again So offer it up to the reel spool frequently to assess the progress....
I'd suggest finally fitting them 'dry', without any glue. Then they can be flicked apart to clean the reel in the future after removing your line. They will clip together firmly enough for you to get some line on to hold them in place OK when spooling-up.
Well done Matt...a virtual 'tinny' or three....
