As some of you will have seen I recently purchased some vintage rods. They came in cloth/canvas rod bags but also came with a large rod bag. There is no makers name, but I wondered if it was recognizable and if it could be dated to a similar period to the rods.

i used to have one of those whicker baskets from the 1970s it got eaton by woodworm in the 1980s

There were lots of similar "no name" vinyl-and-canvas holdalls like that around in the 1970s - I had one, and it was pretty useless! It gave little protection to the contents (no padding) and was a real pain to dry out when it got wet.

I had one too - but it seemed to trap moisture inside and eventually started to smell a bit odd!

Here's a rather nice piece of luggage :-). My reel/general case lol. Cows don't live long enough nowadays to produce leather like this.

Farlow case, roughly 1920s? Full of tackle now :chuckle:
