Thanks Mark that makes perfect sense. I've found my own homemade and adapted floats very useful for chub, and grayling (and occasionally sea trout as a by catch) but don't often get to fish for roach where I am these days. I'm guessing that many roach specialists will leger with a quiver tip or bobbin with isotope into the gloaming?

Yes, quivertips with isotopes are the usual way.

Not part of my series - hoping to make one of those later - but I did get out last week.
In the short window of decent river and weather conditions I managed to get out on the Stour after the roach. Here's the result. Enjoy!
