"The Ideal" 9ft 3"
Winging it's way to me soon (I hope) is a 2 piece, 9ft 3in, Foster Bros. of Ashbourne "The Ideal" (with original maker's bag) which was listed on the Bay of E as a fly rod.

Very nice. Probably intended as a spinning rod originally but looks as if it will make a good leger rod

Very nice Mal!
I'm just going to look up "rationalise" as I don't know what it means any more!

I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

or ... my personal favourite ...

Ah so it was you was it AC! I was after that one but got the Scottie for £12.50 so all was not lost.
I thing they are spinning/worming rods but I'll see when I collect it. Planning to make mine into a little rod for those Perch and jack Pike on the canal what are your plans AC?

It seems a very similar configuration to my Norcro, so (all being well) stalking with floating baits in tight swims in the warm months, and close legering in the chillier times. I have a nice intimate little bay on my local club water in mind.Hovis wrote:what are your plans AC?
