james ogden fly rod query

just dug deep into my rod room and found a two piece 9ft fly rod named james ogden of cheltenham in need of restoration,would this rod maker be the fourrunner of the ogden smith company?many thanks, chubman.

My understanding is that James Ogden was a Cheltenham tackle dealer who also claimed to have been the first person to use a Dry Fly in 1840 and he is nothing to do with Ogden Smith who were established in 1763 and remained with the same family and had outlets in London and Croydon.
