speckled bamboo tube

Post by Barney »

Here is a speckled bamboo float tube just been made and treated with beeswax instead of varnish,i've also done another in speckled bamboo but will be varnished, and 2 other bamboo tubes(yes i've been busy),all have spalted beech end caps, pictures to follow of the others when done,i'm thinking of putting a nice tench on one and a lovely chub on the other 2 ,unless someone is interested in one then they can have whatever inscription and pic they want, the one in the pic still has to have the end caps varnished and all fitted together as do the others,

Hi Leigh,
i actually bought several pieces of it,this is how it grows naturally, working on it is so much easier,no scraping off of the silica,it looks nice with several coats of beeswax polished in the lathe or firstly rubbed down then varnished,
