There's a "Matchestic" on the bay at the moment ... It's mis-described so I wont put the link up till the auction ends.
Looks nice, 12', three-piece; butt all Spanish reed, compressed down to take the ferrule; middle is reed with a tonkin splice; the tonkin is divided by the top ferrule and then there's a built-cane tip; so approx 4' of thick reed, 3' of slim reed, 2' of tonkin or similar with the top ferrules in the middle, and 3' of built cane.
If it was within half a tank of North London, I'd be after it.
Someone did well, I think - hope it was one of our Welsh or WestCountry members!
