Thanks for sharing this Leigh. Is it the Great Torrington along the A386 below Bideford?
I ask because I'm going to Bideford on my Holiday Thursday and so will pop over to River reads.

I hope Leigh doesn't mind me adding to this thread but I've recently just visited River reads too.
It is a lovely little shop and well worth a visit if ever you are down in Devon.
One item that stood out and shouted at me from inside one of the cabinets was this Andrew Field Float.
same cabinet
A pike caught by Fred Buller
Another pike but caught by Fred J Taylor. It must be in the name "Fred".
Some rods for sale.
Through to the back of the shop
The One and Only and a very fitting day to post his picture:-

I have bought a copal of reel from River Reed in the past and one of the reels had a broken spool.
Although they said they replace the spool they never did and they ignored may last email, so I’d be reluctant to use them again. I ended up tracking down a spool my self.

I have met them several times at the Roach Project dinner after the match held on the Hampshire Avon. An excellent bookshop.

The shop mentioned may have closed and River Reads is at a new location offering services as before
.Might be best to check before making a visit to the place mentioned in the post methinks
.Just noticed the link at the bottom of the first page which updates the location.

Looks good,
When I am back home in Devon I will have to take a look. Hopefully I can find some good, old, River floats.
