My new display box for some of Bernard's tackle

At last I have found an appropriate handmade box to display Bernard's tackle (I will shortly and separately tell you the maker and his contact details, when I find the compliment slip). I bought a whole boxful of bits and bobs at Angling Auctions ten years ago and have been giving bits away/selling some for charity over the years. I have Bernard's sea trout flies nicely framed but have wanted a decent box to display the rest and here it now is:

The two floats include replicas that were very kindly made for me by that artisan Andrew Field and I have used them successfully to catch pike and tench.

The skinny float was a special design to fish the Lily Pad hole on the River Beane (see Fred J Taylor's 'Favourite Swims') and, dare I say it, I think I have enough circumstantial evidence to show that it was made by a certain very famous angler!

I feel very lucky to have these items and that they will now be displayed and protected for the future.

I hope you find this interesting.
