I have been looking for some good quality traditional shoes for some time. I finally managed to track some down through a company called Pediwear, based in Halifax. I gave them a ring and got through to a nice chap who even went and tried a pair on, to compare the sizing with his normal shoe. Just to give me an idea what to order. True to their word, they arrived today, just 24 hours after ordering. Excellent service in my book.
I just thought that I'd share this, as in addition to boots and shoes (some suitable for fishing) they do hats and bags too.

Very nice quality footwear - but rather pricey for some items.

Re: Pediwear
They seem to be cheaper than the branded outlets on the internet, thanks for the heads up :-)

Seconded! I've purchased from these people before, didn't realise they were from Halifax. They also stock some models that are extremely rare...

Agreed, some of the ankle boots at £500 are a bit steep.Julian wrote:Very nice quality footwear - but rather pricey for some items.
I figured that if I bought some quality they would last. I have some plain black ones of a similar type, which I have had for 15 years and show little in the way of wear. These may see me out with a sole repair along the way.

Re: Pediwear
I cannot disagree with you there MG, I`ve still got and use the same formal black shoes*, that I`ve used for weddings/funerals and court appearance's for nearly 40 years. I think I paid around £60** for them all those years ago.....
* A bit like triggers broom, they've all been resoled and heeled a few times.
** Just checked historical inflation calculator, which gives 1975 price of £60 as £555

I'll get a pair when I'm 90
