Traditional Transport crossing the Trent

I thought that you might be interested in seeing the Flying Scotsman crossing a lovely stretch of the river Trent just outside Newark. It was on its maiden passenger journey today from King's Cross to York, following a major £4.2M refit.

My problem is I cannot seem to attach a photo once more, so would Mark kindly oblige if I send the image to him?

Admin Edit - Here you are Bob.

I undertook a 6 month Business Consultancy for a Steam Heritage Railway; even conducting one interview while riding the "footplate" with smoke and flames and sparks around as we trundled rather incredibly thru the countryside and over the River Avon - an amazing experience - absolutely everything on it felt alive: every boys dream ! A lasting memory and admiration for those folk who volunteer with passion and energy to keep this amazing part of our "steam heritage" alive for future generations to enjoy.

When Mark picks up my mail I am sure he will add my photograph(s)

My Dad was on the GWR and BR for 44 years, probably the last 35 as an engine driver. I was on the footplate on many occasions so I was a very lucky boy! When that train passed us today my wife couldn't get over the smell of warm oil and smoke. She reckoned it transported her back her childhood in Stratford upon Avon when the Cornishman passed through from Birmingham on the way to the west country. Happy days indeed!
