The National Vintage Fishing Tackle Fair Sunday 19th November 2017

After what must be at least ten years since I ' handed over the reins' of the National Vintage Fishing Tackle Fair to John Andrews, I decided to head off up the M5 and pay a visit to the new Abbey Stadium.
It was so nice to have a catch up with all my old tackle collecting friends from the early days of The Collector's Register.
The hall was nicely laid out and warm, lots of tackle and books on display and over on the back wall I espied Chris Ball who was entertaining a group on the legends of carp fishing.
Chris Sandford obliged me with a photograph and I managed to get together with the organiser John Andrews for a ' selfie '.
I was so pleased the fair was still going strong, in order for these events to continue it is important that we all pass on our knowledge and skills to the younger generation.
If you have not been to a vintage tackle fair yet then please make an effort and introduce yourselves to the stallholders who will be only too pleased to offer some advice.
