River Marden Wiltshire

Next season I am thinking of joining a different Angling Club. The club in question is Calne Angling Club. They have a stretch of the River Marden and the Bristol Avon above Sutton Benger. Does anyone have any recent information on the River Marden? I would be most interested in finding out if this river is any good. I understand it was known for Barbel at one time.
