Sealey Livebait Pike restored.
Courtesy of Dr. Cane.
8 foot 2 inches. The red transfer doesn’t show very clearly in the photos.
I will use this rod in the boat and for canals and drains.

Very nice!
I am sympathetically (my excuse for not doing it very well!) restoring an Octofloat D/L at the moment an if it turns out half as nice as your rod I will be a happy chap.

What self respecting pike wouldn't want to be caught on that? Mind you I thought the same about mine but still haven't landed a pike with it yet
There are three things that improve with age: wine, friendship and water sense, and there's no short cut.

Hi Damflask, that is a beauty of a rod, have you caught anything on it since it was restored. If you want to sell it might be interested.

It looks great, a restoration while completely retaining its character. Well done.
If you have no grease with you, and your rings are full of ice, do not cut out the ice with a pen-knife but get your man to put the rings one by one in his mouth, and so to thaw the ice.
