The best roach fishing outfit in the world..........Probably!

A couple of weeks ago I picked up a new roach rod from fantastic rod builder Andrew Davis.
I have resisted using it until my new reel from Watermole+ was ready.
Saturaday I collected the reel from Leszek and my outfit was complete
It is the finest Roach fishing outfit ever, I know what I think, but I will leave it to you to decide
The rod is Andrew's Nottingham roach, but not the standard model, this is a special 11ft 3 piece with a slim whole cane butt, split cane middle and tip, it is finished with balck/red jasper whippings and all brass fittings, the rod is glorious with a lovely soft tip, but plenty of power in the butt to stop those chub you hook when roach fishing.
now to the reel, this is No3 in the limited run of a 1939 Allcock's Aerial match replica, and what an amazing reel, it spins with just a puff of the cheeks, it is quite simply a work of a genius
I banded the idea of the reel with Leszek a couple of years ago when he asked what was my utimate vintage centrepin reel I would like to own, I managed to track down a reel for Leszek to copy and the rest is history
I fished my local River Tone on Sunday for a couple of hours and I am pleased to say I christened it with 3 small roach
Here we go for some images;
