none aerial kendall reels

they didn't just make aerials ,if people wanted a rapidex style caged trotting reel ,they made a version of goughs reel ,not exactly pirating as gough some details changed ,whish was close enough but not infringe copyright ,though they was a lot smaller than gouhs version (5") ,Kk made them a 4"/3½" versions (other caged reels like homers flick-ems or allcock flick-ems/rapidex may of had a bit of inflourance too) .but came with or without a ratchet mechanism ,date from the late 1930's -1950ish or longer .and as a update May of been called "Moon Aerial's" when sold in the shop.

there's a really rare perforated version (theres seems too have been a centrepin fad ,putting holes in reels ,some done by makers others in the shed with a black & decker) looks really pretty .like a homers flickem .

I have one of these ,great for small river trotting on a small rod .there's no ratchet but not really a problem.i have a small peg for when needed

i'll be adding images of one of these " Moon Aerials" reels with a button operated ratchet fitted .with a 4" diameter and 5/8" spool width between the flanges. Caged drum ,button operated ratchet. Weighs 220g.
