The speydale

I have been given an Aspinall built cane rod "THE SPEYDALE" does anyone have any info about it eg length what type of handle I think this one has been butchered it has any ugly fuji type fixed on lt looks like a salmon spinning rod speydale????

A spinning rod as you say - simple cork handle & 2 reel rings. Single lined butt ring on bottom joint - 5 + lined tip on top joint. I have one awaiting restoration.

This one has a sliding screw winch fitting.

Should be the same as mine which is the same as the details given above in the link - - - - - 9ft.

I have had a couple of Speydales, both 9ft long and quite powerful rods. Salmon or Pike rods I would say and they do make good Carp rods for use in snaggy swims..

Another one which I restored a few years ago. It had lost all of its script and the butt cap is not original.
