Pike Fly!

Post by Santiago »

Image

Just made this from a squirrels tail, peacock feathers and the eyes from very short sections of a large porcupine quill . It's 6" long. This is my first ever attempt at making a fly. I've no idea if it'll catch but it was fun making it.

The forward copper is fine copper wire as extra weight at the head for sink and draw action. For the keel I used UV setting resin, not a great idea on such a cloudy day. :Hahaha:

I'm calling the pattern 'Nutty Squirrel'.

What a wonderful creation :Hat:

What do you mean you mean you don't know if it will catch? Darn right it will. You have some of the best colors in it, and for your first fly I think you did an excellent job.

Thanks chaps. I will use it on the morning of the 16th in a Thames weir pool and hopefully catch a few on it.
