What Make is this and can I replace the stretch cord?

I know that this is not a wooden framed net but any idea the maker and also how can I replace the stretch cord at the top as it is a bit garish. Tried to twist the retaining end but all I am doing is scratching it.
On each arm it has made in Great Britain and on one arm it has the letter M in front of Great Britain.
On the locking mechanism it states Reg. No. and then 777081.
The end cap doesn't appear to unscrew and the pointed rod is to help slide the extension out.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I have that exact net - I am not sure either of the maker - but as to a replacement for the net cord - I use a hemp thread which I wax - this thread is the very same thread we use in the garden - when it looks a tad threadbare it’s easy to replace.

Hi Peter
Great to hear from you again. Amazing that you have the same net.
How do I replace the cord. Do the retaining ends unscrew or pull off? As I stated I have started to scratch one them by trying to unscrew it so I stopped.

looking at the design of the net, I would think that the cord is knotted inside the two end caps - just hope that they have not been araldited on.

It would definitely look the part with a different cord.

On my net the the retaining ends screw off - what I failed to mention Mike is before the original cord deteriorated I dyed the length of cord as near to the mesh colour as possible - this is handy because you can do this if you ever want to change meshes.

Trust your well and hopefully when you travel up to North Norfolk
we can meet up.

All the best
Peter

Yes hopefully we will eventually get a chance to meet up. I look forward to it.

Hi Mike and Peter, I am not sure of the maker, but it is a quality item and the 'butt cap' looks similar to what Milwards used on their top range of course rods? :Hat:

Hi Ted
Linda and I hope you are well.
Thanks for the info. Possibly that is what the M stands for in front of Made in Great Britain.
Bit nervous at trying to remove the retaining caps on the cord. Maybe give them a dose of WD 40 first.

Thank you, I am well and staying as safe as I can, keep yourself and Linda safe too! We have some members that may be able to help you further, my first thought though was Milward's!

I have the same net and mine has no name. The reg number on mine is the same but the handle and butt end differs from yours. Mine is a lot tattier than yours I must add.
