This is my modest collection. Not in the peak of condition, but usable. I’ve included a 1961 price list. Not mentioned is the smallest in the group, which in another recent post, Macman, has mentioned this as being probably, the “Junia”. An early fly reel by the company.
The next one to that is the “Jecta popular” which has no address, simply “made in England”.
Then the “Avon crown” and the “Orlando minor.”
Of these I’ve only used the “Jecta” and the “Crown.”

Can I pinch a shot of your price list for my website. Also your Popular, is one of the originals, from as early as 1947.Cane wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 10:18 am

Re: Get your grices out for the boys!
I recently added this “Avon Royal Eagle to my G&Y collection. A junk shop find.
I’ve always being wary of reels without line guards ever since my youth, when over runs and snagging lead to all sorts of problems. But I thought I’d give this a go and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the brake lever actually does something very useful. No surprise to G&Y aficionados of course.
No over runs and no snags. Love the wide spool as well. Nicely balanced the Chapman 500. Very pleased with it and it’ll certainly get many more outings. Kicking myself that I didn’t work this out years ago.
Incidentally, my 1961 catalogue doesn’t mention this one. Can anyone tell me when it came out please? I’m thinking probably ‘63-66?
