I love Gudgeon......I have caught some clonkers over the years of fishing the Trent.

Where have they gone though?
I have only caught one or two in recent seasons so they are there.....more effort required.
I think I will be doing just that in my plans for next season.

Enjoy everyone that comes your way......I would say they hold many memories for most if not all of us.

Yup... a Gudgeon trip is one of the best days fun you can ever have

In my quest regarding my plans for a find the Trent gudgeon (on my local stretch) I think I have the rod part sorted.
I have a Allcocks Holdwell with fibreglass tip to restore.
A nice light 12 foot rod .It requires a set removing from the middle section and the guides cleaning.
I have removed all the whippings and guides today,still need the old varnish to be removed.
The decal is 80% intact so I will have to careful when working in this area.
I have a nice Nottingham centrepin with a brass drum that will sit nicely with it.
I may even make a couple of floats just for the fun of it!
