This year I'm having a species hunt with a couple of pals, loser buys a bottle of good spiced rum for us all to share round the fire. The premises is simple you get points for each different species with rarer species gaining more points. Additional points are also awarded for specimen size fish.
Well I thought I'd start at the easy side and try and catch that little darling the ruffe from the local Chesterfield canal. I dusted off the old match box and was greated with this.....aarrrggghhhh

Dearest Sir. I have a genuine and traditional set of wooden mouse traps for just such an occasion!
That is a fine looking animal though

Damn rodents! I remember renting a glorified broom cupboard in Park Royal as a "lockup". Little did I know there was an industrial bakery at the rear of the building connected via a series of corridors. Put all my tackle and spare bass amp and cabs in there thinking all was good, locked securely, guarded by a security patrol and covered by cctv as a deterent against two legged rats. A few weeks later I went in to find mass carnage, rods stripped of cork with their bags made into several giant fuzz ball nests and a Trace Elliot mickey mouse fun house. An expensive lesson

Last year I bought two chairs, one lightweight and an expensive session chair. I have yet to use the big one and, I doubt I ever shall. This is what those pesky mice did .....
Looks like a write off. It'll teach me to keep the poison box topped up
