Homemade stalking handle
I want to make my own short stalking landing net handle.
Can someone tell me where I can buy a brass thread connector to accept a 3/8" BSF thread on the net?
Thanks

Re: Homemade stalking handle
I have asked this question before Snape and it would appeared that they are difficult to find. On the landing net pole I made from an old rod, I used a brass female 3/8 thread from an old buzz bar, and then went to B&Q and found a copper connector and basically used epoxy resin to glue it all together. Then put on some whippings. Hasn't broke yet

I used an old bank stick with this one, the rod,s hollow so it has three inches of aluminium bank stick glued inside and then whipped to add a bit of strength.
This one the brass piece is splined on the outside (came from an old thick hollow bank stick) and glued into a whole cane section
This one one i bought as is, just gave it a clean up

eBay search 'brass landing net handle boss 3/8" thread' £3.99 but no postage maybe the seller could be persuaded to post, ends in 6 hours though

Actually a couple of rod makers must have heard your cry, Snape as they are offering just what you want on eBay at the moment!

I have this if you want it Snape, 3/8 thread. It's brass and will come up a treat when polished.
