I got my Speedia reel out to give it the once over befour I go fishing tomorrow.. ( The weather looks grim!)
Without going over the left and right hand wind scenarios again I couldn't help but smile after reading a few post.
To me the reels are really bog standard old work horses.
Poor paint work, bit wobbly, even the Speedia name is upside down!
I wind right handed and like the ratchet leaver at the back as is my Areal Match. It seems though that looking at older post , the Speedia was made with the ratchet at the front for the new wave left hand wind centerpin users.
My one winds slightly louder right hand with is a tad quieter in reverse... I don't mind that at all..
But to me the ratchet is in the right place as is The Areal.
I love the reel, British engineering at his wackiest!
