Green felt rod butt button "washers"

Hi,
Does anyone know where you can obtain the green felt "washers" that fit between a rod butt button and the alloy cap that the button screws into?
Maybe you clever people make your own? Thanks in advance.

You could make your own with two punches of the appropriate size for the bolt and the rim of the butt button. Felt can be obtained from craft shops and punches from some hardware stores, or ordered online. To use, I’d suggest a flat tree stump/ log end, or failing that, a soft wood which ideally has the grain running towards the striking point, this is just kinder to the punches and they’ll last longer. But you can use any of lump/ plank of wood if you wish and you’ll soon knock out as many washers as you need, after a bit of practice.

I have never seen them for sale.
Green (or other colour) baize. A suitably sized coin - a 10p is a little too large. Small, sharp scissors. Cut the baize round the coin.
Fold into 4. Cut off the tip - less than you think.
Work the (squarish) hole in the baize down the brass thread of the button and snug it down to the rubber. Baize responds very well to gentle pulling-about, being non-woven.
Screw button into cap.
I use different colour baizes to best suit the rod and button. But mostly green.
Have a go; it is really easy and makes the rod look really good. Baizes from craft material shops.

As Mike above. I relined my match seatbox and trays with a dark blue baize.

Any wooden tackle box looks better!

As far as I know only Allcocks used these washers, but I stand to be corrected.

I made some from sticky felt sheet intended to protect varnished furniture from ornaments etc. I think I got these from Homebase, but I'm sure it could be found online.

If you are only after one I may have enough left.

Thanks for your suggestions. I've got some 3mm green felt bookmarked so once I've got my latest project out of the way I'll be ordering some and making some washers.

Yep, Nobby. My understanding as well. Only Allcocks and only green.
But I think that all the other rod builders were missing a trick. I find them very practical - e.g., never had a "stuck" button on a rod with a felt washer - and attractive. They also add a finishing touch showing that someone has been looking after and caring for his rods.
