The Traditional Fisherman's Forum

Hello everyone - I live in Shrewsbury, right on the banks of the Severn - it's at the bottom of my garden so I have plenty of opportunities for fishing. I mostly use an Allcocks Super Wizard, with a roughly contemporary Mitchell reel and an assortment of old fashioned floats and traditional bait, often found under rocks in the garden. I'm not sure I'll have much to contribute but I have no doubt I'll learn a lot from the members of this group.

Welcome, you have found the right website for all things to do with vintage tackle, I expect a lot of memebers on here will be ever so slightly jealous of your location, I would be but I prefer fishing reservoirs and big lakes.

I am very new to Traditional fishing but have been welcomed with open arms despite having little to contribute.

Thanks - on the whole I feel very lucky to have my own little section of riverbank, perhaps a little less so when it is fifteen feet up and still rising!
