Greetings from West Yorkshire

Post by Greenacres »

I started fishing in 1959 buying my first cane rod in 1963, a 9ft heavy ledger rod which I used mainly for pike fishing. This rod soon had it's limits so I had to progress to other rod materials. The rod sadly was not looked after to fell into poor condition. I did not think about cane rods again much untill I came across a Chapman 550 at a local car boot for £10 which was quickly snapped up by me. Interest now rekindled I have now got a Chapman 11ft Shelford, a Chapman 500 plus 5 other cane rods.
Star rod is a Partridge 10ft Mk 4 which was owned by the late Dr Barry Rickards which I have still to use. I have manged to buy another 9ft heavy ledger rod which I am about to have restored plus the Chapman 500

Nearly all the cane rods are fished with centre pin reel which I have a collection of

Hello and welcome, John.
I believe we are fellow members of WMAC and in the distant past, you sold me plenty of day tickets for Nostell priory lakes.

Hope you enjoy it on TFF.
Some very knowledgeable and tallented people on here.

All the best.

Ps, you did incredibly well with the Chapman 550
