That is incredible! Surely a typo by the seller.

Sometimes, when a seller has done a deal and sold an item off-grid, as it were, they put a stupidly high price on an object so that nobody bids on it and causes them to need to answer awkward questions with ebay.

Incidentally, that price is exactly £6,499 more than I would spend on a Barbour jacket.

Well you'd beat me in an auction.

I wear my heavy, cold Barbour for similar reasons that I enjoy using my clunky old reels and 50 year old bite alarms.

Of course I could wear a lighter, warmer coat, but surely thats not what "traditional" is about?

I could work down a mine and drive to the water in an Austin Seven but don't, just like I use modern lines and hooks. Being burdened by a heavy coat and feeling cold has little to do with tradition in my opinion, it's more something we used to endure. Each to their own I s'pose.

The traditional wearers of Barbours were city traders, commuting from their country houses :Chuckle:

I have several and wear them when it's warm and not raining.

I have one, bought new a few years back, it's warm, it's water proof and has loads of pockets. It's a really good fishing coat.

10p? Barbour coats and I don’t get on. It surprises me that many used ones on a certain auction site seem to have asking prices north of £250! Do people restore and collect them?

I had a Barbour motorcycle jacket years ago... padded, armoured, it was a copy of the ISDT (International Six Day Trials) gear... Loaned it to my brother to and he flogged it for a shedload of limbs... be worth a fortune now
