The holy grail of rods!!

I think i have got an absolute find, it was made by Richard Walkers father, it is a MK1V carp rod, the absolutely fantastic thing is, it has never had a reel fitted to it!! 100% pristine as new, i will take some pictures of it and try to upload them, i went to a guy in Southend on sea (quite a trip from Derbyshire), but was it worth it, i went for 1 rod, ended up with 5 rods and no money left, 3 were totally unused. The other 2 mint rods are 3 piece float rods, the MK 1V is the finest example of a rod build i have seen, it is perfection, the bag it is in is also new, i just take it out have a play with it and wonder as to the ability of the maker, in the next 48 hours i will post pictures.

I never knew Dick's father fished let alone built rods. I am pretty sure the Mk VI carp rod was Dick's design and not his fathers but I might be wrong though.

It was Dicks Grandfather who first took him fishing. Not to say that his father didn't fish.

I'd be very interested to hear the history of this rod and see some pictures but I think it's highly unlikely it was made by Dick Walker's father.

To see some images of such rods, including an earliest Mk IV, not made by Walker, would be an absolutely amazing treat for us all here.
If you would put up some snaps, we'd all be very grateful!
