Prototype

Post by Iasgair »

I tried picturing this fly in my mind at work yesterday and this morning I put it together. I have a feeling black wings would look better.

After seeing it bigger on the forum, I don't like it. Tail looks a tad too long and black wings would look better.

Any thoughts?

I think the tail length is fine iasgair. I would leave as is to see if it works. I wouldn’t have a problem using it for sea trout or salmon in coloured water.
Remove the wing altogether and it could be called the “queens guard” 👍

Red winged Coachman tied loch style wet? I agree with reducing the tail for proportion. Not sure the fish would care mind. A darker wing would put that fly tied in smaller sizes in the chironomid/buzzer/midge box as a 'pulling fly' in a suitable hatch, for me at least. I like it👍
