i didn’t tie the Hawthorne or Tups iasgair. The Hawthorne isn’t my style since it has wings.
That reminds me.That mole skin you have is what is used for the body of the iron blue soft hackle and iron blue dun,but not the blue dun which is tied with a light blue dubbing and is a totally different fly
Soft hackle iron blue pattern
Thread — red/wine
Hackle — starling lesser covert feather. Other bird lesser coverts can be used,but the starling is very soft.
Body — mole/rabbit mix dub
Simple and deadly and I’m sure one of your recently bought books will have the pattern.
