Early Hardy Rod

I have been going through my rod collection over the Easter break and came across an old Hardy rod (in a Farlows rod bag!). It set me off doing a little research and I thought the rod might be of interest to the forum. I have attached some photos showing the information on the butt and the rod number 58469 which I believe dates the rod to 1901. It is a 3 piece salmon (?) rod measuring about 14 ft with two tips and offset line rings. It has the Hardy's W fitting for the reel with the date of the registered patent 16 August 1873 and details of the rings patent No. 2607 and an un-numbered patent for the steel centre.
